Victoria, Texas - Susan and Gary Branfman's Mediterranean-style home evolved from photographs they'd taken during travels to Italy, Israel, Spain, Mexico, and Greece. Their architect noted the features they most admired, and designed accordingly. After two-and-a-half years and multiple revisions, the drawings were finally complete. Susan and Gary's lifestyle reflects the same careful deliberation - as well as undisguised devotion to their three daughters.
"This is a family home where children can run and play," Gary explains. A second-story room equipped with art supplies, ballet barre, mirrored wall, and upright piano nurtures aspiring artists and ballerinas. Though the couple frequently hosts parties to benefit the arts, they spend most of their free time enjoying the girls' company. A home theatre, swimming pool, vegetable garden, playground, and exercise room provide plenty of diversions. "We don't really need a boat or summer cottage," Gary explains. "We just enjoy staying at home."
