Victoria home builder Steve Klein was one of three industry experts nationwide selected to analyze a Pennsylvania-based home construction company for the National Association of Home Builders Magazine.
Klein's analysis will be featured in an upcoming edition of the trade publication.
The award-winning builder traveled to Danville, Pa., to study the construction methods and designs of Pinebrook Homes Inc. and meet with company officials. The three-man team studied every aspect of the company, including quality control, financial stability and marketing.
Their findings will appear in the magazine's popular "Builder Tune-up" column.
Klein has been named one of America's Best Builders by Builder Magazine and his company has won several awards for new home design and construction.

For the second parade in a row an entry by Steve Klein Custom Builder in the Parade of Homes Tour has captured the coveted Peoples Choice Award. The 1994 Tour of Excellence ended after a nine day showcase of seventeen homes by local builders. More than six thousand people attended this year's tour of homes. Those who attend the Parade of Homes Tour vote on the home they like best. "We are extremely pleased by the public's reaction to what we do," said Klein, a nationally awarded Custom builder. "When that many people tour your home, critique it, and vote it their favorite, then it tells me we are providing the kind of designs, workmanship, and construction to appreciate quality when you see it," said Klein. "You can sense how well our homes are designed and constructed when you walk in.
"Klein's entry this year was a luxurious two story upside down design overlooking four fairways at Colony Creek Country Club. A traditional exterior carefully blended with an open concept interior with generous use of glass and Custom mahogany cabinets garnered Klein additional awards. Best Interior, Best Bath, and Best Furnishings were awarded to Klein by four out of town judges in the Division I category of homes (2200 sq. ft. and larger).
There is no criteria for the Peoples Choice Award, according to Pam Jacobs, executive vice president with the Builders Association of Victoria, who sponsored the event. Visitors simply vote for the home they like best. Jacobs also noted that attendance was up dramatically over the last show, an indication that the local economy is very strong and people are looking for housing.
Steve Klein Custom Builder continues to meet the housing needs of Victorians as a new development is underway, The Lakes of Colony Creek. When K1ein isn't devoting his attention to his residential and commercial design/build business he serves on boards with the Victoria Economic Development Corporation, The Victoria Planning Commission, The Texas Developers Council and speaks at national home building symposiums and conventions.
